ElephantDrive: Enormous Cloud Storage Options
There is a new kid on the block providing data protection using cloud storage. Since the traditional method of backing up to an external hard-drive or disk has proven ineffective, ElephantDrive has offered its services to home and business users who need to store critical data but without paying the typical data center price.
Cloud Storage Capabilities
ElephantDrive offers both online and downloaded application services to backup and store from any device. Users can use the cloud storage option to automatically backup files and use an automatic scheduler which eliminates the worry of constantly updating their backup. From there, files can be imported to a variety of computers and devices as long as they have an internet connection. With the web access portal, users with a cloud storage account do not have to worry about downloading their files to view them – it is all right there online.
Cloud Storage and Collaboration
ElephantDrive offers their customers the ability to collaborate and share online and without ever having to download a file to an email client first. Instead, users can set permissions and share folders online, similar to that of Dropbox. Users will also be able to set provisions so that an individual can view-only or download files from their shared folder. Users that do not want to share a folder still won’t need to worry about downloading a file to share it with others. Instead, they can use the secure sharing feature by right-clicking the file and “sharing”.
Multiple Platform Capabilities
ElephantDrive has taken on numerous platforms to offer cloud storage regardless of the device. Users with Windows or Mac PCs can still access and upload files and Android users are able to collaborate directly from their phone. Users that want to have a NAS (Network Attached Storage) can integrate their ElephantDrive for better cloud storage and backup options.
Plans and Pricing
ElephantDrive does offer a free account for home users who do not require a lot of storage. The free account gives a user 2GB of storage and the ability to synch, send and automatically backup from any device. Paid users will have more features and options and can receive up to 50GB of storage as well as multiple user accounts – which are imperative for small and large businesses with multiple employees.
